Welcome to Cup O' Jo, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Clayton, CA. Located at 6054 Main St, this quaint cafe invites you to experience coffee culture in its purest form. With a rustic charm that feels like a throwback to simpler times, this local treasure is the perfect spot to unwind, delve into a good book, or even tackle some quiet paperwork.

Stepping inside, you are greeted by the eclectic decor that boasts a vibrant collection of art and music, reflecting the unique personality of owner Peter. It’s as if you’ve entered a cozy time capsule reminiscent of Berkeley’s boho coffee shops from the 1970s. The ambiance is warm and inviting, a haven for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle. Here, the absence of WiFi encourages you to truly disconnect and savor the moment.

Cup O' Jo offers a wide array of expertly brewed coffees that promise to awaken your senses. According to customer Chris Lahey, a standout selection is the Mocha Glacier, a delightful blended iced coffee drink that is both refreshing and indulgent—perfect for a warm afternoon. In addition to their superb coffee, patrons can enjoy a selection of bagels and pastries that are just right for breakfast or a sweet treat. With plenty of parking available and limited cozy seating, it’s a charming pit stop for locals and visitors alike.

But don't just take our word for it. Customer Gregg Atwood shares, "Cup O' Jo is like stepping back 40 years in time... you’ll love it." The heartfelt testimonials from patrons prove that this cafe is not just a spot for coffee; it's a community hub where you can support local business and enjoy rich, flavorful brews that remind you what true coffee should taste like. Mr. Powers advises, "Take the time and sit to enjoy your brew... you'll thank yourself," and truly, it’s advice worth taking.

Cozy and welcoming, Cup O' Jo is more than just a cafe; it’s a sanctuary for coffee lovers and anyone looking to relax and indulge in a quality experience. So whether you’re gearing up for a bike ride to the nearby Morgan Territory Regional Preserve or simply want to enjoy a peaceful moment away from the daily grind, make sure to swing by and grab your perfect cup of joe. After one visit, you’ll understand why we and so many others are in love with this delightful café.

Rustic. Local. Quiet. Affordable. Limited seating. No wifi. Plenty of parking. Small business. Perfect spot to relax and read a book or do some paperwork. They have a wide variety of coffee, bagels, and other treats. 10 out of 10 recommend the Mocha Glacier for a refreshing blended iced coffee drink, Overall, cute breakfast or dessert spot. Ideal for studying or small groups~

Cup o Jo is like stepping back 40 years in time to Berkeley and the days of the boho coffee shops. It’s a wonderful, eclectic interior with signs and messages and art and music. All reflecting Peter‘s personality and taste. Excellent coffees and they also have juices and ice cream and pastries. take it from a guy who been frequenting coffee shops for espresso since the late 60s. You’ll love it. One caveat: no bathrooms, although there is a public bathroom in a park about two blocks away.

A perfect place to grab a coffee. Cozy, and nice environment. We stopped there for a cup of coffee in the middle of our bike ride to Morgan territory regional preserve. If you are in the Clayton area I highly recommend visiting for a cup of coffee.

Enjoyed this coffee shop. It's a real coffee shop, comfy, with good treats too. Way better than any chain. Also get to support local.
